Role of the Vice President General of the Rocky Mountain District:

“Vice Presidents General are established as General Officers of this Society. They are nominated by the state societies within a district and elected by a majority vote of delegates at the National Congress of the National Society, where they are installed into office.”
“Protocol establishes the VPG as second in rank to the President General of the National Society (or the President eneral's duly named representative) in his respective district. The principal duties and responsibilities of the VPG are presented in NSSAR Handbook Volume II: Organization – Vice Presidents General as a guide to assist them in their performance."

Bylaws of the Rocky Mountain District

National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution

Article I: Name

The official name is the Rocky Mountain District (RMD), consisting of the State Societies of Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Article II: Objects

The RMD’s purpose is patriotic, historical, and educational, per the NSSAR Handbook.

Article III: Membership

All members in good standing in any of the three State Societies are members of the RMD, including dual members.

Article VI: Parliamentary Authority

Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern the RMD unless superseded by RMD bylaws.

Article VII: Amendments

Bylaws may be amended by 2/3 majority vote at the annual meeting with 30 days’ prior written notice to State Society Presidents and Secretaries.
